Christmas dinner buffet was everything you could imagine and more. This was our second cruise with ACL, and we are signed up for two more this year. We enjoy seeing our own country, in a relaxed atmosphere, leaving all the stress of travel to ACL. We enjoy dressing for dinner each night, although this is a personal choice; many do not.

The lower Mississippi is very industrial and there is little scenery along the way - just lots of barges, tow boats and industrial docks.The excursions were interesting and well done although the cold and wet winter weather detracted from the enjoyment.

The best time of year to cruise to New England depends on whether you prefer warmer weather or more colorful landscapes. Perhaps one of the most popular times for cruising New England is in September and October, when the fiery hues of fall foliage are in full display. With all cruise seasons, choose clothing with a simple color scheme that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. Also important are comfortable walking shoes and binoculars for enjoying all that nature has to offer. For cruises between late June and early September, temperatures are generally in the 70s and 80s, varying slightly depending on where you are along the coast.
